127 Cancer Drugs Under Scanner as Delhi Govt Orders Fresh Testing of 75 Cleared Samples
The step comes amid growing concerns over the circulation of counterfeit and substandard medicines in the capital. According to officials, 160 medicine samples were collected from private pharmacies and drug stores across Delhi, of which 75 had initially cleared quality checks. However, doubts have now been raised over these findings, and the health department is preparing to send the samples for fresh testing at another laboratory. The move comes after multiple cases of fake life-saving drugs surfaced in the city. Authorities recently busted a racket that was allegedly producing counterfeit medicines by converting mixtures of churan, chocolate, and food supplements into tablets, capsules, and injections. These fake drugs were being passed off as branded cancer medications.
