30,000 bottles of illegal cough syrup seized in Assam, 2 held

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Police have seized illegal cough syrup bottles worth Rs 3 crore and arrested two individuals in connection with the case, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday. A total of 30,420 bottles containing codeine phosphate were seized from a vehicle intercepted at the Churaibari outpost, located at the Assam-Tripura inter-state border, PTI reported.
