Combining artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled automation with advanced imaging technology and an ergonomic design, GE HealthCare has unveiled the Vivid Pioneer cardiovascular ultrasound platform at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) conference (August 29-September 1) in Madrid, Spain. In addition to improved spatial resolution and color sensitivity, the Vivid Pioneer ultrasound features 4Vc and 65c-D probes that facilitate higher accuracy with cardiac function assessment and enhance visualization of fine anatomical structures, according to GE HealthCare. GE HealthCare said the recently FDA-cleared Vivid Pioneer ultrasound employs a variety of AI tools to promote workflow efficiency. New automated features include: • Easy AFI, which enables clinicians to obtain strain results and ejection fraction analysis in less than nine seconds; • 4D Auto LHQ that provides left heart function evaluation; and • AI Cardiac Auto Doppler for automated measurements. The company noted that other attributes of the Vivid Pioneer device include the platform’s compact ergonomic design and customizable touch panel to enhance maneuverability and efficiency. “Vivid Pioneer is built to meet the moment in cardiovascular care where precision, speed, and accuracy are essential,” said Jyoti Gera, the chief executive officer of cardiovascular and interventional solutions, advanced visualization solutions at GE HealthCare. “With its next-generation imaging engine, AI-powered automation, and intuitive design, the goal of Vivid Pioneer is to empower clinicians to see more, do more, and address patient needs with comfort and confidence.”
