Indian Nursing Council withdraws recognition of over 30 nursing colleges in Bihar, Assam
Bihar- Over the failure to apply for statutory inspections for several years, the Indian Nursing Council (INC) has reportedly withdrawn recognition of over 30 nursing institutions in two states- Bihar and Assam. The decision has been taken after the state governments, Nurses and Midwives councils failed to submit their recommendations regarding the suitability of these colleges. Due to prolonged non-compliance of the INC rules, the council said that it will limit the registration of graduates from the selected colleges to the state only. Around 11 nursing colleges in Assam and 21 in Bihar have been unrecognised by the INC due to non-compliance of medical norms. However, an official order has also been released by the INC.
