Jharkhand plans to establish 6 new medical colleges

At the event, while highlighting the upcoming projects of Odisha, Dr Ansari said that the construction of the proposed kidney hospital will end the need for patients to travel outside Jharkhand for transplant and advanced kidney treatment. Additionally, he also confirmed that the much-awaited Medico City and six medical colleges will be completed on time, according to TNIE. Ansari further said that since taking charge, work is being done to strengthen the health system. Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Ajay Kumar Singh also said that despite limited resources, Jharkhand has surpassed the national average in many health parameters. Earlier this year, Medical Dialogues reported that Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, laid the foundation stone for a 200-bed super speciality hospital in Jharkhand. The Rs 300-crore project, which is being funded by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, is set to significantly improve healthcare infrastructure in the region. The hospital will be built on a 5.5-acre plot provided by the Jharkhand government near RINPAS in Kanke block. The hospital, which will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in cardiology, pulmonology, and neurology, aims to provide advanced healthcare services to the people of Jharkhand and neighbouring states, CCL officials said.
