0 Mins
According to a recent media reports in the Times of India, the organisation alleged that the laboratory was carrying out painful experiments on around 1,200 animals, including beagles and monkeys, despite the availability of scientific alternatives. It demanded the immediate rescue of all animals kept at the facility. As part of the protest, participants performed a street play in which people dressed as scientists restrained PETA India Director Poorva Joshipura in a chair and subjected her to mock procedures intended to represent what the animals reportedly endure. PETA India urged the Committee for the Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CCSEA) to step in, conduct an inquiry, and secure the release of the animals from the laboratory.
