Dr G Raghunandan takes over as In-Charge Director of Medical Education in Andhra Pradesh
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed renowned orthopaedic surgeon, Dr G. Raghunandan, as the in-charge Director of Medical Education (DME), marking a new chapter in the leadership of the state's medical education sector. Currently serving as the Additional Director of Medical Education at the DME office, Dr. Raghunandan is an orthopaedic surgeon from Gutti village in Kurnool district. He has held various positions at government teaching hospitals across Kadapa, Nellore, Tirupati, Kurnool, Anantapur, and Vijayawada. Chandrababu Naidu and Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav for entrusting him with the responsibility to serve as in-charge DME, reports Deccan Chronicle. As in-charge DME, Dr Raghunandan is expected to play a vital role in guiding medical colleges, streamlining healthcare training programs, and ensuring quality standards across government medical institutions. His appointment comes at a crucial time as Andhra Pradesh continues to expand and reform its medical infrastructure. The state government has issued transfer orders for several Additional Directors of Medical Education (ADMEs) to initiate a restructuring, which is part of a broader initiative to streamline the administration under the control of the Director of Medical Education (DME).
